Daniel Young
"Chef D"
Class of 1979
Daniel Young is a Michigan native, born into a large family who was fortunate enough to have a father who was a chef. Daniel was inspired to follow in his father’s footsteps, beginning his cooking career at age 15, while he attended EKHS. Daniel balanced his time as a student, track-and-field athlete, and chef—and succeeded. In 1992, Daniel was the youngest senior member in history to be inducted into the Orange County Chefs Association.
Chef D took his love for both cooking and sport to create his own brand, which would become the most unique blend of the culinary and athletic world, personal coaching and providing nutritional guidelines for members of the NBA, NFL, MLB, and NHL. Chef D would soon be one of the principal founders of Athletes in Motion (AIM) "A Contribution to Sport," a pre-and post-season cardiovascular training regimen. Chef D would assist in successfully rewarding rookie and veteran pro-athletes over $60 million over the course of five years in contract negotiations based on impressing coaches and pro scouts with the athlete’s physical capabilities. |
