Greg Thomas

Greg “Duck” Tomaszewski was a standout athlete in track and field and cross country during his time as a Falcon. He was named Team Captain in both sports and the East Kentwood Cross Country team went 35-1 in the OK Red Conference and won the conference in 1970, 1971 and 1972. The track team also dominated the OK Red winning the conference championship in 1972 and placing second in 1973. After East Kentwood, Greg went Michigan State University getting his BA in Finance in 1977. Not stopping there, Greg then received his MBA in Taxation from the University of Michigan in 1982. After college Greg worked for Liberty Mutual in claims and a bank examiner for the United States Treasury. He then joined Arthur Anderson as a CPA for 2 years and then went to E.F. Hutton. Greg founded the Greg Thomas Insurance Agency in Naples, Florida in 1989. In the past 29 years, his business has grown to 4 offices on the western coast of Florida and is recognized as one of the largest independent agencies in the U.S. In 2010 Greg renewed his connection to East Kentwood by becoming an assistant coach to the track team. He attends almost every meet traveling from his primary home in Naples to be with the team. His generosity extends to the team financially as well enabling the team to participate in national meets where our Falcons soar. In addition to Naples, Greg maintains a Michigan home in Beulah. He has been married and has a daughter, Heather. |
