Mr. Randy Gist, a 2005 graduate of East Kentwood High School, is a
Los Angeles-based composer and saxophonist with an impressive musical journey. Mr. Gist holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Western Michigan University and a Master’s Degree in Studio Jazz Writing from the University of Miami. Mr. Gist has made significant contributions as a composer, writing music for major film campaigns such as “Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” “Despicable Me 2,” and more. His arrangements have graced the performances of the Costa Rican National Orchestra. As a saxophonist, Mr. Gist has shared the stage with renowned artists like The Jonas Brothers, John Legend, Kesha, Ricky Martin, Ariana Grande, and others. His saxophone performances span prestigious events like the 2020 Grammys, “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno, and a special performance for President Barack Obama with Jamie Foxx & Kelly Rowland. Mr. Gist has been featured on popular TV shows like “Glee” and “NBC’s The Voice” and contributed to the soundtrack of Pixar’s “Epic.” Adding to his diverse talents, Mr. Gist has DJ-ed for numerous Disney World premieres, including events for “The Mandalorian,” “Wish,” “Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3,” and more. Mr. Gist is married and the proud father of one daughter. |
