Tim Wauben
Class of 1979
Tim and his family moved to Kentwood in 1970 and signed up that fall to play for his first little league team, the Kentwood Cougars. He grew to develop a love of sports and actively participated in football, baseball, and basketball throughout his youth and high school years.
Tim enjoyed a great team and personal success as high school football and baseball player. He was an integral member of conference championship football teams at East Kentwood where he was a three-year starter on the varsity team. He was elected all-conference and all-area as well. He was also a member of East Kentwood baseball teams that made it to the state's final four in two consecutive year.s Wauben was also selected as an all-conference baseball player. At East Kentwood High School, Wauben was an adviser for the student council, was dean of attendance, and coached football for approximately 30 years. In 2000, he was honored by the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association as an Assistant Coach of the Year, and then again in the year 2002 by being elected as an AFLAC National Assistant Coach of the year. |
